How long does each course or certificate program last?
All courses are 12 weeks in duration. Multi-course certificate programs typically last six to fifteen months.
How much time will I need to dedicate to each course?
Depending on your experience in the subject area, you can expect to spend four to six hours per week on your course. A typical student may spend three to five hours participating weekly in discussions, reading, interacting with lesson materials, and completing assignments.
Is the class schedule flexible?
Yes, our faculty understand that you have both personal and professional commitments beyond your control. If you have any issues while in the course, you can contact your instructor and/or advisor to work out a schedule that will accommodate you.
Can I take more than one course?
Yes. You can take as many courses as you like in one term. That being said, we strongly encourage students to begin with one or two courses at a time, as you familiarize yourself with you new class schedule.
Can I skip a term?
Yes, while we have recommended times of completion for each program, you will have the opportunity to skip a term if you have a personal, medical, or professional issues arise.
I’m going on vacation — can I still take the course?
Absolutely, many of our students go on vacation and still maintain their course load. Contact your instructor to stay on top of your lessons, and class assignments.
What are the courses like?
Throughout each 12-week course, you’ll use innovative online resources — including video content, audio examples, weekly chats, interactive exercises, and discussion boards — to communicate, interact, and learn with and from your instructor and other students. You’ll complete your assignments on your own schedule within the week, begin and end as you need to, and work at a pace that’s right for you.
Who teaches the courses?
Our faculty consists of distinguished Grammy award winning music industry professionals and seasoned academics. Throughout your learning experience you will have direct access to your instructor through private messaging, discussions forums, and live chat. Your instructor will provide you detailed, weekly feedback as you complete the lessons, giving you insight.
Who else will be in my courses?
During your 12 weeks, you will interact with students from around the world. You will join in discussing course lessons and sharing real-world experiences. As result of our interactive communities, students build professional relationships with their classmates that last a lifetime.
When can I take classes and do coursework?
This is the best part; students can log in anytime/anywhere to communicate, interact, and learn with and from instructor and other students. Regardless if you are at work, home, or on vacation, as long as you have access to a computer, you will have access to your course.
How will I be graded?
Each week, you will be given a grade along with feedback based on your course work. At the conclusion of your course, you will receive a final grade, based on your participation and performance throughout the course.

What are the admissions requirements?
There are no formal admissions requirements to begin taking a course or a certificate program. That being said, you must meet all the technical requirements and prerequisites for each course. This information can be found in the course catalog section of the website.
What are course requirements like?
While all courses are professional level, each course is unique — some are introductory, while others are more advanced and may require an existing foundational knowledge of the subject matter. Each course’s requirements page lists all prerequisites, textbooks, and hardware and software needed before you begin. Should you have any questions, please contact a student advisor as they have a wealth of resources for you to obtain the required material you will need for your class and/or program.
Do I have to pay a registration fee?
All students are required to pay a $10 registration fee online during your registration process.
Can I review the course outline in advance?
Absolutely, each course outline is available for you to download and review before you enroll. Just follow the link on each individual course page (in the course catalog section) to download the course outline.
When should I enroll?
We encourage students to enroll as early as possible. You want to make sure you can secure your seat in class. You can wait until the last minute to enroll, though it is not recommended.
How do I enroll?
Once you have chosen a course/program of study, click the “How to Enroll” button in the individual course or certificate programs page you wish to enroll in. This section will guide you through the registration process.
